In the field Training (Michigan)

I believe that the best way to master photography is to practice in the field shooting what you want to shoot, not in a classroom or watching Youtube Videos. My training programs are designed to elevate your photographic skills, boost confidence, and foster innovation through practice I will travel to wherever you need depending on the type of photography you wish to improve and includes the following;

  • Review of Camera Settings
  • Composition
  • Aperture vs shutter speeds and how they affect your overall shot.

Cost $100 for a half day “on site” workshop with two follow up phone consultations. If two or more people attend, each students cost will be $75 each.

Michigan travel is expected to be 50 miles or less. If more than 50 miles, I charge 50 cents per mile.

Cost $75 for second separate session, if requested.

I am committed to helping you achieve your photographic best.

Composition

Photographic composition is a fundamental aspect of creating compelling and impactful images. It involves arranging the elements within a scene in a way that is visually appealing and effectively communicates the photographer’s intended message. Some key elements of composition in photography include:

  • Rule of Thirds: This guideline involves dividing the frame into thirds both horizontally and vertically, and placing key elements along these lines or at their intersections.
  • Leading Lines: Using lines within the scene to lead the viewer’s eye to the main subject, creating a sense of depth and guiding visual exploration of the image.
  • Symmetry and Patterns: Utilizing symmetrical elements or repeating patterns to create visually engaging compositions.
  • Depth: Incorporating elements in the foreground, midground, and background to add depth and dimension to the photograph.
  • Balance: Achieving visual balance within the frame through the distribution of visual weight, ensuring that the image feels stable and harmonious.
  • Frame within a Frame: Using elements within the scene to frame the main subject, drawing attention to it and creating a sense of depth.

These elements, among others, contribute to creating well-composed and visually captivating photographs.
